Description
This villa, now converted into flats, was built in 1798 and designed by Richard Goodridge. It is constructed of ashlar and has a hipped slate roof with iron detailing. The building is two storeys high with an attic on the left side, and features three bays, with full-height bowed fronts on the outer sides looking towards the garden. The windows are 6/6 sash windows in plain reveals; those on the first floor have blind boxes. The entrance facade is on the left side and features a slightly projecting central section with a six-panel door, side-lights, and a continuous overlight with glazing bars, all sheltered by a glazed hood supported by ornate iron brackets. A roof dormer is present. An internal stack is also visible. The interior has not been inspected. The villa occupies a prominent corner site and forms a group with Lexham Lodge on Copt Elm Road and Charlton Lawn on Cudnall Street.
