Description
Hamilton House is a house built around 1805 to 1810, located on Brookway Road in Charlton Kings. The building is constructed of stucco and features a slate roof, along with iron boot scrapers at the entrance.
The house is two storeys high and has three first-floor windows. There is a decorative band above the ground floor, with pier strips on the sides and a central bay that breaks forward. The entrance is marked by a tripartite Doric portico, which includes a central pediment and half-glazed doors with margin-lights and an overlight featuring glazing bars. The ground floor has outer tripartite windows with a 6/9 configuration between 2/3 sashes, while the first floor has 8/8 sash windows, all equipped with louvred shutters. The roof is hipped with stacks at the ends.
Inside, the house features an open-well staircase with stick balusters and a wreathed handrail, although the rest of the interior was not inspected. Additionally, there are two iron boot scrapers located at the porch.
