Description

This is a pair of terraced houses located on Grosvenor Street in Cheltenham, built around 1820 to 1834. The houses are constructed of ashlar stone, with a painted brick rear elevation. They have two storeys and four first-floor windows. The first-floor windows are 6/6 sashes, while the ground-floor windows are 2/2 horizontal-pane and 1/1 tall sashes, all with plain reveals and sills. The houses have central entrances with original 4-panel doors; the left-hand door has glazing bars and the right-hand door has a voussoir overlight. A first-floor band, frieze and cornice conclude with a blocking course. The interior has not been inspected. Grosvenor Street was originally known as Gyde’s Terrace, a detail recorded on Merrett’s Map of 1834.
