Description
This is a terrace of three houses, now shops, built around 1820-1830 in Cheltenham. The building occupies a corner site and has undergone later alterations, including the addition of 1970s shop fronts to the ground floor. The exterior is stucco over an ashlar base with a brick core, topped with a concealed roof. The building has an L-shaped layout. The Bath Road frontage features one window plus seven first-floor windows, while the left return has four first-floor windows. Most windows are 2/2 sashes, with some 6/6 sashes, and one 8/12 sash. Windows on the left return and the corner angle have tooled architraves to the first and second floors. A continuous first-floor band serves as the sill band to the left return. There is a crowning frieze, cornice, and blocking course, with original copings that ramp down to the right. The corner entrance is a 20th-century glazed door with an overlight. The ground floor has glazed shop fronts, and the right return entrance features a 4-panel door with round-arched upper panels, pilaster strips, side-lights, a wide overlight with sidelights, all within a plain surround. A 20th-century door and overlight, and a glazed shop front with a further shop entrance are also present on the left return. The interior has not been inspected. The building occupies a prominent corner site.
