Description

Gates and gate piers, dating from approximately 1820 to 1850. These structures are built in the Greek Revival style. The gateways are constructed from ashlar and feature shallow pediments with scroll finials for the pedestrian gates that flank the main carriage gate. The gates themselves are made of cast iron, with ramped top rails and decorative floral cross rails, punctuated by spearhead bars. These gates and piers form a notable feature of the streetscape and contribute to the setting of Hatherley Court.
