Description

A pair of semi-detached villas, now converted into flats, dating from approximately 1820 to 1850. The buildings are constructed of ashlar facing brick, with a concealed roof and truncated end stacks. They are two storeys high with a basement, featuring four first-floor windows and two-storey entrance porches on either side. The stucco detailing includes Doric pilasters extending through the first and second floors, topped by a crowning dentil entablature. The windows are largely 4/4 sash windows in plain reveals with sills, and blindboxes; however, the entrance bays have 6/6 sash windows. The basement windows are 6/6 sashes. The entrances have panelled double doors with overlights, a frieze, and a dentil cornice, also topped with a crowning cornice. The rear of the property retains a mix of 6/6 and 8/8 sash windows. The interior was not inspected during the listing process. Subsidiary features include stucco balustrades to the ground and first floors; the ground floor balustrade sits on plinths and features a round-arched arcade, while the first-floor balustrade is latticework. One entrance is sheltered by a tent-hooded porch.
