Description
This stable block, built in 1740, is located about 10 meters northeast of Kelly House. It is constructed of stuccoed stone rubble and features a hipped slate roof at both ends. The building is two storeys high and has a seven-bay Classical design, with the central bay slightly projecting and topped by a pediment. A cupola is situated on the ridge.
The main entrance consists of a central two-leaf panelled door, framed by a timber architrave with consoles that support a cornice above. This area includes an oculus with a bullseye window. To the right of the entrance, there are three later coach entrances with double doors, which are accompanied by three cross windows featuring square-leaded panes and shutters beneath the transoms. On the left side, there are three identical first-floor windows without shutters, and three ground-floor windows that are similar but include glazing bars.
Atop the building is a slate-hung clock turret, which likely dates from the same period as the stable block and features a clock face. The turret is topped with a cupola that has a moulded cornice and a lead-covered dome. The interior has not been inspected.
