Description

Hannaborough Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around the mid-17th century. It features rendered cob and rubble walls and has a hipped slate roof with a gable at the front right-hand end. The building has a two-room and through passage plan, with the hall on the right heated by a front lateral stack that has a rendered rubble base and a brick shaft. The passage has been converted into another room, and the original use of the lower room is unclear as it is now used for storage, though it may have always been non-domestic.

The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical two-window front. The right-hand end projects as a gable in line with the lateral stack and has a 20th-century three-light casement window on each floor. There is a two-light 20th-century casement window at the centre of the first floor, with a 20th-century plank door below. To the left of centre, there is a double stable-type door with a loading hatch.

Inside, the hall fireplace has been partly rebuilt, and no early features are visible on the ground floor except for a heavy rough axial beam in the left-hand storage room. A 17th-century roof truss survives over the lower end of the building.
