Description

This is a pair of lime kilns, which may have originally been part of a larger complex, dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. They are constructed of rubble with dressed granite voussoirs forming the arches. The current layout includes two main chambers at the front, each with hearths on the rear walls. The left-hand chamber features a smaller chamber opening to its left, and there is a similar smaller chamber at the rear of both main chambers. The walls to the left are in a ruinous state, indicating that the complex may have extended further in that direction. The principal chambers have round arches at the front, topped by a tall wall, with additional ruinous walls to the left of the main structure.
