Description
Chalet Treloar is a semi-detached lodge built around 1907, located in Simmons Park. It is designed in the Swiss chalet style, featuring a combination of stone and weatherboarding. The roof is made of asbestos slate and is gabled at the front, with very wide overhanging eaves that are supported by large brackets over a verandah that has a wooden balustrade at the ground storey. The gable showcases ornate pierced bargeboards, and the overhanging eaves on the sides are supported by thin wooden posts with pierced spandrels.
At the ground storey, there are side doorways that lead up a flight of steps to a balcony, which features two French windows with louvred shutters. Above this, the first-floor window has a false wooden balcony with pierced balusters. Additionally, there are two round-arched openings leading into the basement, and a central stone chimney stack.
