Description
Darley House is an 18th century to early 19th century stuccoed stone house located on George Street. It features a steeply pitched slate roof with deep eaves and corner pilasters decorated with an incised key motif. The building has two storeys and an attic, with five bays. The original sash windows have been replaced by modern windows that include glazing bars to mimic the appearance of sashes. The central doorway is flanked by pilasters adorned with incised acanthus leaf decoration, topped with a large entablature, and features a fielded panel door. There are three hipped roof dormers and a round-headed stair window at the rear. The property also includes a front garden area, which is enclosed by railings that form a semi-circular shape, featuring arrow head shafts and small granite piers topped with balls.
