Description
This is a house, dating to around the middle of the 17th century, with an addition from the 19th century. The walls are rendered cob, and it has a gable-ended thatched roof with brick stacks at each gable end. Originally, the house comprised two rooms, each heated by a gable-end fireplace, and may initially have included a small central service room. A 19th-century outshut has been added to the rear.
The front facade is asymmetrical, with a 4-window arrangement. Most windows are late 20th century casements with 1, 2, or 3 lights, lacking glazing-bars. Earlier 20th century casements are found on the left-hand first floor and right-hand ground floor. A lean-to porch with a catslide thatched roof sits towards the left-hand end, with 20th-century part-glazed double doors. A slight projection appears to the right of centre. A lower 19th-century former outbuilding is attached at the right-hand end, and there is a 19th-century lean-to at the rear. The interior was inaccessible during the survey, but likely features open fireplaces and possibly original ceiling beams.
