Description
The base of a cross, dating from the medieval period, is located about 22 meters southeast of the porch of the Church of St Peter and St James in Halwill. It is made of granite and features a square base with a mortise for a cross shaft, set on two granite steps. The corners of the base are chamfered at the top, and the sides are adorned with various motifs carved in shallow relief, including a cross, a St Andrew's cross, blind tracery in a roundel, and a beast.
