Description

The cross-base, located approximately 4 metres south of the porch of the Church of St Peter, is likely from the 15th century and made of granite. It stands about 350mm high and features a square section at the bottom with chamfered edges and pyramid stops above. The cross-base is set in a large socket-stone, which is also square in section but has chamfered top corners with large broach stops. This structure rests on a plinth that has a hollow-chamfered soffit moulding, sitting on a base of stone rubble.
