Description

The Church Room is a building likely constructed in the 1870s, around the same time as the restoration of Halwill Church. It features ashlar masonry facing the churchyard, with weatherboarding on the north side and a stone chimney at the east gable end, topped with a slate roof. This church room was previously used as the church laundry and is located next to Town Farmhouse on the west side, with access to the first floor from the churchyard. The building has two storeys, and the east gable end facing the churchyard is designed in 19th-century Gothic style, featuring a coped gable with kneelers and two 2-light cusped windows that have square-headed hoodmoulds with label stops. There are steps leading up to a door on the north side, which is weatherboarded and has sash windows. The Church Room is included for its group value with the church.
