Description

A pair of early 19th-century houses with shops, possibly originally a single house. The shop fronts likely date from the mid-19th century. The building has rendered front elevations and a slate roof, with two rendered chimneys on the right side wall. It is three storeys high, with a two-window front. The ground floor features two display windows and a central house door, all set beneath a single entablature. The shop front to the left has three upright glazing bars and a transom light of small square coloured panes; the shop front to the right has a transom light with patterned glazing. The house door has four panels, a lion-head knocker, and a patterned fanlight with panelled reveals. The upper floors contain eight-paned sash windows. Giant panelled pilasters rise without capitals to a prominent moulded eaves cornice with an egg-and-dart bed mould at either end and in the centre. The interior has not been inspected.
