Description
Laburnum Cottage is a house that dates from the early 19th century and may have been a remodelling of an earlier structure. It features rendered stone rubble walls and a gable-ended slate roof. There is a brick stack at the right gable end, and at the left end, there is a projecting semi-circular rendered stone stack with a brick shaft. Additionally, there is a brick stack at the left end of the outshut. The house has a two-room plan, both of which are heated, with a central entrance hall. A rear outshut likely contains a service room that is integral to the design.
The exterior is two storeys high with a symmetrical three-window front, featuring 19th-century horned 16-pane sash windows, except for a marginal glazed light at the centre on the first floor. The central entrance has a 20th-century glazed and panelled door, which is sheltered by a small hood. In front of the house, there is a stone rubble wall that encloses the garden and rises at the left-hand end to form an entrance arch. The interior was inaccessible at the time of the survey.
