Former Stables About 20 Metres North West Of Moreton (Now Part Of Grenville College)

The former stables, located about 20 meters northwest of Moreton and now part of Grenville College, date from the early 19th century or possibly earlier, with a late 20th-century addition. The building features solid rendered walls and half-hipped slate roofs, along with red and cream-brick chimneys. It has a U-shaped plan, with a late 20th-century addition on the right side of the left wing. The main range is two stories high, with single-storey wings projecting from each end of the front.

The main range includes a two-window gabled center projection, flanked by two-window sections on either side. Most of the windows are small-paned sash windows set in recessed box frames, except for the right-hand second-storey window, which has a two-light wood casement. The center projection features a clock in a round moulded frame, topped by a wooden bell-turret (which does not contain a bell) with a patterned slated roof and an ornate weathervane. The right wing has windows similar to those in the main range. In front of the building, there is a low stone-rubble wall across the right side of the forecourt. The interior was only inspected on the ground floor, which has been completely altered.
