Description
Ley Marden is a former rectory built in 1867, designed by R.D. Gould of Barnstaple at a cost of £1,500. It is constructed from local stone rubble with Bathstone dressings and features a slate roof with stone rubble stacks, all in a Gothic style. The building has an asymmetrical plan, with the entrance elevation showcasing three gables at the front. The gables are slightly set back to the left and right, and there is a slated lean-to porch supported by stout timbers on the right side of the central block. A second door is located at the left end, featuring a chamfered stopped stone doorframe. The windows include some stone mullioned casements along with later windows. The interior was not inspected during the survey in 1988.
