Description

This is a threshing barn located immediately to the southwest of Middle West Week, dating from the early to mid 18th century and likely built around the same time as the main house. The roof was replaced in the 19th century. The barn is constructed of cob on stone rubble footings and is whitewashed on the front, featuring a gabled corrugated iron roof at both ends. There are opposed entrances to the barn, with a single-storey section on the right and a loft above on the left. The front has a projecting gabled porch that reaches full height and includes double timber doors. To the left, there is a smaller entrance with a timber lintel, leading to a loft entrance that has a timber door and pigeon holes. The right gable end of the barn has been rebuilt using concrete blocks.
