Description

ILSINGTON SOUTH KNIGHTON SX 87 SW 8/131 Range of outbuildings (South - Knighton House), about 5 metres to north

GV II

Range of outbuildings, including a former stable, parallel to the house on the north side of the rear courtyard. Several buildings, possibly ranging from late C16 or early C17 to C19. Stone rubble and cob with hipped roof covered with tarred slates. Interior is divided into compartments by solid walls of cob and stone; these have had doorways cut through tnem later, suggesting that they were once external walls. Loose box has chamfered upper floor beam with step stops. Roof trusses are C18 or C19 with collars pegged to the faces of the principal rafters. Included for Group Value.
