Description
Normans Farmhouse is a circa late 17th/early 18th century farmhouse, with 20th-century alterations. It has rendered rubble walls and a slate roof, gabled to the right and hipped to the left end. Three rendered rubble stacks project; one is lateral at the rear, another at the right-hand gable, and the third rises from the eaves at the left end. Originally, the farmhouse comprised three rooms and a cross passage, with the staircase situated at the rear of the passage in a small projection. The hall was heated by a stack at the rear, while the inner room had a stack at the right-hand gable. The stack in the lower, left-hand room was likely inserted at a later date. The front has an asymmetrical arrangement of four windows. The upper windows are circa early 20th century, featuring 3-light casements with glazing bars. The ground floor windows are later 20th century and lack glazing bars. A gabled, glazed porch occupies the left side of the centre, with a part-glazed door. A plank door, situated under a lean-to porch, is at the right-hand end. Internally, several original two-panel doors remain. The dog-leg staircase at the rear of the passage has stick balusters at the top. The roof space has not been inspected.
