Description
The cider house at Lamacraft Farm is a building from the late 18th century. It is constructed of rendered cob and stone rubble, topped with a red pantile roof that is gabled at both ends. The structure is rectangular in shape, with its gable end facing the street. It is noted that village dances were held in the loft of this cider house.
The exterior features a three-bay front with a central door and a loft door above it, along with timber windows on either side, one for each floor. The left side of the building, which faces the street, has a round-headed louvred window.
Inside, the cider house is very well preserved, featuring a stone floor with a drain, chamfered crossbeams with run-out stops, and a cider press that is still in use. The loft has not been inspected. This cider house is an unusual and significant example of a large, well-preserved structure of its kind.
