Description

This is an early 19th-century milestone, originally erected by the Exeter Turnpike Trust. In 2011, it was moved 70 meters north to its current location.

The milestone is made of granite and has a rounded-arch top. The west-facing side, which is the roadside face, features an inscription that reads ‘V/ MILES/ FROM/ EXON’. Additionally, there is a surveyor’s benchmark inscribed at the top of the stone. The milestone has experienced some damage over time.
