Description
The Bishop John de Grandisson is a public house located on Clanage Street in Bishopsteignton. It likely has origins from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 19th century. The building is colourwashed and rendered, probably over stone, and features a slate roof that is gabled at the right end of the front block. There is a projecting stack at the left end of the front block and a rear lateral stack on the wing.
The structure is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical three-window front. A 20th-century front door is positioned in the center, flanked by three first-floor 19th-century small-pane casements and one 20th-century timber window on the ground floor to the left. The rear left wing has a four-window elevation facing the street, which includes a shallow 20th-century gabled porch to the right of center, two first-floor 19th-century casements with small panes, and three ground-floor sashes that are either late 19th-century or 20th-century with four panes each. The interior has not been inspected.
