Description

The former wheelwright's shop, located southeast of Beggars Roost, is a workshop that likely dates from the 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of cob and stone rubble, topped with a steeply-pitched corrugated iron roof that is hipped at both ends, and was originally thatched. The building has a rectangular plan with an entrance on the west end. It is a single-storey structure featuring a large timber door on the left side and a large window with lapped glass to the left of the door. There is also a single window on the right side, which faces the road, and a corrugated iron ventilator on the roof. The shop is part of a group that includes Pitman's Cottage and Beggars Roost.
