Description
Holly Cottage and the adjoining cottage at North Stokeinteignhead are a pair of houses dating from the early to mid-19th century, with later 20th-century alterations including additions to the rear. The houses are likely built of stone rubble, with colourwashed and plastered surfaces, and have a slate roof with gabled ends and end stacks. Originally arranged with a double-depth plan of two rooms wide and a central entrance, the exterior originally presented a symmetrical three-bay front. A central 19th-century panelled front door is sheltered by a porch hood; a 20th-century front door replaces a former window on the right. The upper floor has three original 12-pane sash windows, and a ground floor window to the left is a probably 20th-century 16-pane sash. The interior was not inspected. The cottages are included in the list for their group value at the approach to the village centre.
