Farmhouse 1830s, built for the Mamhead Estate and very similar to Broomhouse Farmhouse, Ashcombe (q.v.), also part of the estate at one time. Whitewashed and rendered ; end stacks on corbels ; slate roof, gabled at ends with curly bardgeboards. Gothic style, unusual for a farmhouse of this date. Plan: Single depth main block, 2 rooms wide with a central entrance porch and principal rooms to left and right ; rear left service wing. Exterior: 2 storeys. Symmetrical 3-bay front with a very steeply-pointed gabled 2 storey porch with curly bargeboards to the gable, the porch slightly corbelled out at first floor. level with a 3-light stepped window in the gable. Original timber mullioned windows. The right return, (the service wing), is 3 bays with a C20 concrete block porch into the service wing ; 3 first floor timber mullioned 2-light windows, similar 4-light window to ground floior left, and 3-light window to the right fo the porch. 1 window retains the presumably original glazing with diamond leaded panes. Interior: Not inspected. Very unspoiled externally and an unusual example of an early C19 Gothic farmhouse. Shown on the tithe map of 1839.
