Description
The Ship Inn is a public house located on Queen Street in Teignmouth, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The building features incised stucco and has a hipped slate roof with a stack at the rear.
The exterior is three storeys high and presents a slightly curved front. On the right side, there are three bays that create a nearly symmetrical three-window arrangement. The left bay has windows on the side facing the sea. The second floor has a central horned 2/2-pane sash window, flanked by 6/6-pane sashes, while the first floor features a 4/4-pane sash window. The ground floor includes two flat-roofed canted bays with 20th-century glazing and 20th-century doors. The upper floors of the left return have central 20th-century canted bays on brackets above a 20th-century ground-floor window. The rear of the building is also finished in incised stucco and has small casement windows. The interior has not been inspected.
