Description

Greenway Viaduct is a railway viaduct built around 1864. It is constructed from coursed stone rubble with rock-faced granite arch rings and features ten round arches supported by rectangular piers. The central pier is larger and includes a pilaster buttress. The viaduct has low parapets and spans 495 yards, bridging a steep wooded valley on the east side of the River Dart. The Dartmouth and Torbay line was opened in 1859, and this section from Churston to Kingswear was started in 1862 and completed in 1864.
