Description

Leighton House is a 18th-century building located on the east side of The Promenade. It is a three-storey structure that has been altered over time. The exterior is rendered and lined, featuring rusticated quoins and a painted, enriched wood eaves cornice. The upper floors have three sash windows, each with only center glazing bars, while the canted side windows are designed as splayed bays. The roof is slate and hipped on one side. On the ground floor, there is a sash window on the right with remaining glazing bars, a central six-panel door, and a conservatory in front of the left window. Leighton House is part of a group that includes the Conservative Club, Nos 1 to 4 South Place, Pindar Lodge, and Nos 1 and 2 Victoria Place, all of which are situated in an important location.
