Description
This outbuilding, located approximately 75 metres east of Mothecombe House, is believed to have been a smithy but is currently used as a garage. Its original purpose is not definitively known, though it may have served as a cart-shed. The building dates from the 18th century and is constructed of stone rubble. It features a pyramidal hipped thatched roof and has a square plan. The west side includes a wide cart entrance with 20th-century sliding doors, while the south side has a blocked doorway. This structure is included for its group value with the nearby Mothecombe House.
