Description
Bennicke Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse dating from the early 19th century. It features a rendered exterior and a slate roof with brick stacks. The building has a near symmetrical design with a central stair hall and an additional bay with a lean-to roof on the right side. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has three windows, all of which are 20-pane sashes that retain much of their early glass. In the lean-to addition, there is a 2-light glazing bar casement at the upper level. The central entrance consists of a 6-panel part-glazed door set within a late 19th-century glazed porch, and there is a plank door leading to the addition. The left side of the building has a 2-light casement window from the 20th century at three levels, while the right side features a 2-light window at both the attic and ground floor. The rear of the farmhouse has two 2-light windows and an early plank door. There are gable stacks and a lateral stack at the back. The interior, which was partly inspected, retains a stick stair, many original doors, and elliptical-headed niches.
