Description
The barn and stables north of Bennicke is an early 19th-century structure made of rubble with a slate roof. It is designed as a hipped bank barn. On the upper side, there are three openings leading to plank doors. The lower east front features two small openings beside a stable door, three ventilating slits (one of which is in a blocked former doorway), a narrow door, and a wider opening on the far right that includes part of plank doors. The first floor has one small square opening and one loading door, with all openings framed by stone lintels or voussoirs. The upper level consists of seven bays with king-post plus scissors trusses and two light purlins. The ground floor has heavy beams and retains some original stalls. This attractive building is located next to the farmhouse.
