Description

This lychgate, located approximately 30 metres south-southeast of the Church of St Peter and St Paul, dates from the early 20th century and is designed in an Italianate style. It is constructed from granite ashlar and features a low-pitched hipped slate roof with wide bracketed eaves. The structure resembles a freestanding loggia, consisting of two bays by one bay, and includes round arch arcades supported by squat columns. Each end is buttressed by large volutes. Access is provided by two flights of steps that have moulded coping and solid balustrades.
