Description

Erme Bridge is a road bridge over the River Erme, dating from around the mid-19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features a single segmental arch. The bridge has a plain string course, and its parapet includes plain coping and piers at both ends. The faces of the bridge are slightly curved. This structure is a rebuilding of an earlier bridge. For further reference, see C. Henderson and E. Jervoise's "Old Devon Bridges," pages 23 and 24.
