Description

Higher Velwell Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse situated in Rattery. It is built of slate rubble, with parts roughcast, and has a slate roof with gabled ends. The building is L-shaped. It has two storeys, featuring 19th-century casement windows, some retaining earlier chamfered wooden lintels. One window has a stone hood mould above it. A 20th-century glazed door is set within an hood in the angle of the building. Rendered chimney stacks are positioned at the gable ends. A chamfered lintel is visible above a fireplace in the east wing.
