Description

This is a pair of headstones located about 2 metres east of the chancel of the Church of St. Michael in Stokenham. They date from the late 18th century and are made of slate. The southernmost headstone features a shouldered head and commemorates Peter Gillard of Bickerton in this parish, who died in 1784. The northernmost headstone has a shaped head and is inscribed to Nathaniel Gillard of Cormore in this parish, who died in 1779.
