Description
April Cottage and the adjoining barn to the south date from the 17th century and are constructed in painted stone rubble. The building features an asbestos slate roof with gabled ends and stands two storeys high, presenting a long four-window range. The windows include 20th-century casements and two sashes facing the road, along with a 20th-century ledged door that has a hood above it. A chimney stack is located on the rear (west) wall and slightly projects from it. The barn, which is also from the 17th century, is attached to the south and shares the same roof. It has a doorway and windows on its west side. The original roof structure is intact, featuring jointed cruck trusses with cambered collars. Additionally, there is a mounting block on the west side.
