Description
The barn and adjoining linhay, located immediately east of Gatcombe Mill in Littlehempston parish, date from around the 18th century. They are constructed of stone rubble. The barn, situated to the north, features a steeply pitched corrugated iron roof, with the north end hipped and the south end half-hipped. There are double doors at the center of the east side, and the barn is built into the bank at the north end, which includes a loft door. An outbuilding is attached at the northeast corner, oriented at right angles, and has external stone stairs leading to the loft door in the gable end. The linhay, located to the south of the barn, is also made of stone rubble and has a half-hipped patent double Roman tile roof. It features a three-bay open front on the west side supported by two round stone rubble piers, and the loft above contains wooden planks, with a loft door in the south gable end.
