Description

This is an 18th-century row of buildings with later alterations, located on Church Street. The two-storey buildings stand prominently above the street level, set well back behind terraced pavements. They are constructed of narrow, coursed, roughly-hewn local stone, with some sections plastered and painted. Most properties have a single window on each floor, and the original windows have been altered, now featuring a mix of casements and sash windows. Properties 48 to 62 have entrances sheltered by flat canopies, some supported by shaped brackets, with particularly notable examples at numbers 48 & 50 and 52 & 54 where the canopies are paired. Number 62 has a six-panel door. Numbers 44 to 62 (even) form a group.
