Description

The building comprises an 18th century or earlier millhouse and mill. A reference to 1760 exists. The millhouse is a two-storey, two-window structure built of stone, now plastered and limewashed. It has renewed casement windows with glazing bars and a central entrance with a slate-roofed canopy. Inside, there is a wide stone fireplace with a beam above, hewn timber, window seats, and pegged roof timbers. The mill itself was rebuilt in 1841, and together with the millhouse, forms an "L" shape on the plan. Originally three storeys high, it is constructed of stone and contains a large cogged inner wheel which is damaged, and an outer wheel which remains.
