Description

The Life Boat House was built in 1867 and was given by Richard Durant of Sharpham. It is constructed of stone and features a slate roof. The building has shaped Dutch gable ends topped with pointed finials. An inscription acknowledging the gift is set in a pseudo-Venetian window effect located below one gable end and above the life-boat doors. There are also two small gabled dormers on the longer sides of the structure.
