Description
This house, located at 10 Above Town in Dartmouth, dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century, with some modern updates from the 19th century. It is constructed of local stone rubble with brick dressings, and the front is painted. The house features end stacks with rendered brick chimney shafts and a slate roof.
The exterior is three storeys high and has a symmetrical front with three windows, which are replacement horned four-pane sashes set under low segmental brick arches. The windows on the second floor are slightly shorter than those on the lower floors. The central front doorway is round-headed and contains a recessed six-panel door topped by a fanlight with a radial pattern of glazing bars. There is also a secondary shallow gabled timber hood above the door and a cast-iron footscraper beside it. The roof has plain eaves and is gable-ended.
The interior has not been inspected but is expected to be of interest.
