Description
Ludbrook Mill and House is a water mill and adjoining house, dating from the early 19th century. The structure is built of stone rubble with a slate hung front and features an asbestos slate roof with hipped and half-hipped ends. It is positioned at right angles to the road. The house, located at the road end, is two storeys high and has a two-window range, featuring sashes with glazing bars and a two-light casement. There is a left-hand flush panel door with a slated hood above it, and a brick chimney stack at the rear. The mill, which is attached to the left (west) of the house, is also two storeys tall and consists of one bay. The ground floor is made of stone rubble, with slate hung above. It has doors on the ground and first floors, along with a small window on the second floor. There are outshuts at the rear. The mill machinery remains intact and was last used in 1962. It includes an overhead undershot wheel made of cast iron with wooden spokes.
