Description
The farm buildings at Tree Farm, dating from the 18th or early 19th century, consist of a stable and a byre constructed from rubble. The stable features a slate roof, while the byre has a corrugated iron roof. These two buildings are arranged at right angles to each other, creating a small enclosed yard, and are located opposite Tree Farm at the base of the hill leading to the parish church. A third shed on the west side is not considered of special interest.
The stable is two stories high and has three openings with wooden lintels and 'skied' stone drips, possibly cills from above, along with ventilated plank doors beneath a central loading door. The rear of the stable includes a large central loading door at the upper level. The byre, also two stories, has three openings with wooden lintels and a central square loading door, although its left end is hidden by a later building that includes some repairs in concrete blockwork. These buildings are significant as they complete the group with the farmhouse.
