Description
Caton House is a detached house located in its own garden, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The building is finished in stucco and features a slate hipped roof with splayed corners. It stands two storeys high and has three bays, with the corners splayed and the centre recessed. The first floor has two-centred arch casements with glazing bars, while the ground floor includes French windows with louvred shutters and a central glazed door. A verandah with a glazed roof, supported by iron columns, runs across the front of the house. There are small contemporary single-storey lean-to wings with hipped roofs at either end of the splayed corners. At the rear, the wing has plain sashes with glazing bars and a large rendered chimney stack.
