Description
Waddeton Boat House is a boathouse with a room above, located on the River Dart and dating from around the mid-19th century. It features a picturesque rustic design, constructed from stone rubble with a thatched roof that has a gabled end facing the river and oversailing eaves. The west pitch of the thatch has been replaced with corrugated asbestos. The gable end is weatherboarded and is supported by four rustic posts, with a rustic balustrade on the first floor above the boathouse, which is at beach level. The structure has two storeys and an attic, with an attic casement window in the gable end. There are stone rubble chimney stacks on the side and at the rear gable.
