Description
This listing describes a range of outbuildings located immediately north-northwest of Crabadon Court, which includes a cartshed, a garage, and a pigsty. The cartshed dates from the 18th century and is constructed of slate rubble with a gable-ended roof made of very large rag slates. It has a rectangular shape with an open front featuring three bays supported by two wooden posts that are joined at the top to form a fork clasping the arcade plate. The roof structure includes principal rafters that cross at the apex.
Adjacent to the cartshed is a larger outbuilding from the 17th century, also built of slate rubble but with a corrugated iron gable-ended roof. This building has a rectangular single-cell plan, featuring a small central doorway at the front and a first-floor doorway on the left side, which is built into the back wall. The right end of this building has a later opening for a cart entrance. The front doorway is round-arched with chamfered slate voussoirs and jambs, and it has an old plank door with strap hinges. Inside, the back wall contains blocked recesses, and the first floor has been removed, with the roof structure replaced in the late 19th or 20th century.
Between the two buildings is a single-storey lean-to pigsty range, dating from the 18th or early 19th century, which has two plank doors on the front and a corrugated iron roof. The interior of the pigsty has not been inspected.
