Description
This quay, located about 420 metres east-south-east of Sharpham House, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from horizontally coursed dry slate rubble, with the lower courses possibly made of pitched slate. The top of the quay is not paved but instead covered in turf. It has an irregular rectangular shape, projecting into the River Dart and becoming slightly narrower at the outer end. The quay is positioned on the west bank of the River Dart, near a small disused slate quarry within the park of Sharpham House.
